Ruud Lenssen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, known from films such as Lost in Memories (IDFA 2019) and Kathem & Chris (winner Dutch Filmfestival 2010).

Growing up as a shy kid in a small village, Ruud Lenssen (Broekhuizenvorst – the Netherlands, 1986) naturally learned the art of observing. But it took until his studies at the film academies of Rotterdam, the Netherlands (WdKA) and Genk, Belgium (LUCA School of Arts, master’s degree, graduated with honors) before he really knew how to give expression to this. His love for the documentary genre was inevitable.

The lessons of his youth manifest themselves in all films by Ruud Lenssen because of the observing style, but also through the choice of socially relevant themes that he portrays in an intimate and personal way. After all, it is often those personal stories that provide insight into how to deal with the major issues of life.

My Father the Hashking | 2022 | two-part documentary-series – Guest teacher film education [vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”991″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” onclick=”img_link_large”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1601556258372{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Photo credits: Patrick Klein Meuleman[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1674558364871{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”] BIOGRAPHY RUUD LENSSEN Ruud Lenssen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, known from films such as Lost in Memories (IDFA 2019) and Kathem & Chris (winner Dutch Filmfestival 2010).
